About the Author

Tonia Rice Witt is excited to share with you the adventures of Mia and her friends in her new children's book series. Tonia has made it her mission to help others. You can often catch her on the sidelines of a sporting event, capturing memories through photography. She is the founder of Rise Up Sports, a female only platform that gives strength to girls and women in sports and a renewed sense of self-confidence. She hopes to give little girls the power and confidence to chase their dreams in her series Mia and the Magic Basketball. Tonia lives in Kentucky with her son and their mini-golden, Odie.

About the Illustrator

Abby Hughes is an artist and designer based in Orlando, Florida. Originally from Mount Sterling, Kentucky, Abby has been passionate about creativity and the arts from a young age, which led her to pursue a degree at The Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in Savannah, Georgia. After graduating, she moved to Orlando, where she launched her career with The Walt Disney Company, working as a graphic designer and event coordinator bringing magic to both cast members and guests alike. It was there that Abby found her passion for supporting and inspiring others. 

In addition to her design work, Abby has always been an avid reader and she's excited to merge her love of reading and art in the visual creation of Mia and her adventures. Abby's ultimate goal is to inspire others through her artwork and make a positive, lasting impact on the world around her.
